This person will work closely with the National Sales Director and broader sales team to grow retail presence, improve execution at shelf and unlock incremental opportunities through strong analysis, partnerships, and planning. Responsibilities:
Drive Topline Sales Revenue
- Partner with the National Sales Director to drive execution across key grocery accounts including Albertsons/Safeway banners, Kroger banners, Publix divisions, and Ahold banners to ultimately support topline sales goals.
- Own everyday pricing and merchandising compliance, and shelf execution at the regional and divisional level to ensure consistent in-market performance.
- Help aggressively sell shippers and display support vehicles at the regional/divisional level.
- Build and grow key relationships with regional/division retail decision-makers across Kroger and Albertsons divisions.
- Partner with sales teammates to develop relationships with UNFI and KeHE area distributor reps to pursue incremental distribution and improved display support across conventional and natural customers.
Provide Sales Analysis and Materials Support
- Use syndicated data (SPINS, Nielsen, IRI) and retailer portals to identify opportunities, evaluate promotional ROI, and support sales strategy development in partnership with Sales Strategy Manager.
- Lead customizing and versioning new item and shipper sales templates and materials for divisions and distributor reps.
- Drive growth by applying a identifying and creating solutions for in-market challenges — including out-of-stocks, pricing inconsistencies, and display compliance gaps.
- Support in tracking results and motivating broker partners by with guidance from National Sales Director, and ensure accountability in the field to deliver outstanding execution.
What We’re Looking For:
- 3-5+ years experience in Retail Natural & Grocery Channels with sales experience / distributor responsibility
- Bachelor’s degree required. Areas of focus in Business or a related field preferred
- Prior sales experience with small / midsized entrepreneurial company preferred (e.g. revenue under $150 million)
- Established relationships and demonstrated success working with key retailers along with the leading brokers and distributors (UNFI, KeHE) servicing a number of retailers a plus
- Prior experience in operating with a lean, efficient team, appropriate to size/scope of business, and utilizing appropriate systems to support strong business growth
- Key leadership characteristics: integrity, leadership/drive for results, collaborative, flexible, strong communicator, player/coach mentality with willingness to roll up sleeves and get into the weeds
- Experience utilizing SPINS, Nielsen and/or IRI. Understands how “relevant data” plays a key role in underpinning business decisions, especially in competitive categories. Strong proficiency in Excel, Powerpoint, MS Office products
