The Food Safety and Quality Assurance Manager is responsible for ensuring all quality assurance programs and food safety protocols are implemented. The FSQA Manager is responsible for developing, implementing and maintaining quality and food safety systems that ensure that all customers, 3rd party audits and regulatory requirements are being completed.

Responsibilities:

Manage the FSQA department, including FSQA technicians and Sanitation Department.
  • Review, update and maintain QA programs/procedures and develop and implement new programs/procedures to stay compliant with HACCP, FSMA, GMPs and other customer, 3rd party and/or regulatory requirements.
  • SQF Practitioner & PCQI
  • Monitor and enforce all QS and Food Safety programs. FDA Compliant.
  • Develop and maintain all plant training.
  • Manage and maintain the auditing of all quality and food safety parameters within the facility including incoming supplier specifications, production, warehousing, shipping, etc.
  • Lead and conduct mock recalls and ingredient traceability exercises.
  • Conduct internal GMP & Safety Audits of the entire plant.
  • Handle and follow-up with customer complaints. Track trends.
  • Manage effective communication among all internal departments, teams, and external resources.
  • Manage the HOLD/RELEASE program.
  • Point of contact for all 3rd party, regulatory and customer audits.
  • Investigate customer complaints, CAPA process.
  • Drives Continuous Improvement efforts.
  • Assist Director of Operations with other tasks as required.
  • Bakery or RTE experience preferred. Food Manufacturing Required.
  • Knowledge of natural bread products preferred. (Not Required)
  • Partner with R&D Director and Plant Manager on company projects.
  • Great Communicator and on the floor presence, driving processes and improvements.
Requirements:
  • BS in food science, biology, chemistry, microbiology or related science.
  • Solid understanding of FSMA required.
  • At least 5 years of experience in FSQA in food manufacturing, bakery experience preferred.
  • HACCP & PCQI Certification Required
  • Experience with leading SQF and other Regulatory audits.
  • Understanding of Root Cause and Corrective and Preventative Actions.
  • Strong analytical and organizations skills necessary.
  • Strong computer skills including Microsoft Office.
  • Knowledge of Quality Software Programs. Self-managed and highly motivated
  • Good communication skills, ability to multi-task and quickly grasp tasks
  • Attention to detail.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage projects.

  • Shift (Day Shift) Flexibility when required.
