Amour Vert, a sustainable fashion retailer, is seeking a highly motivated and dynamic Merchandise Planner to execute planning, forecasting, allocation, and inventory management tasks for our growing direct to consumer business. This position will report to the Head of Planning and will support the execution of merchandise financial plans which maximize business results through effective and timely pre-season and in-season management of all product categories.

Strong communication skills, the ability to build productive cross functional partnerships, and an analytical mindset will be key to ensuring that we have inventory which both minimizes risk and prioritizes growth. The Merchandise Planner will be part of a small but growing team, so must possess a can-do attitude and be a proactive and curious problem solver who is able to multi-task and juggle priorities.

Responsibilities:

- Build accurate monthly and weekly sales, markdown, margin, and inventory pre-season plans at product category level in strategic collaboration with Merchant partners

- Support the Head of Planning in developing company targets for sales, inventory turnover, style count, choice count, and gross margin expectations

- Manage monthly In-Season forecasting of Sales, Markdowns, AUR, and Inventory

- Lead monthly Open To Buy process based on results of In-Season forecasting to drive collaborative decision making and Inventory management

- Create seasonal guidance for quantity and depth of buys at style/color level

- Execute permanent markdowns and temporary promotions to optimize profitability and inventory turnover

- Manage replenishment needs to ensure consistent in stock across all channels

- Analyze weekly business results, historical trends, and market factors to proactively identify risks, opportunities, and creative solutions to maximize business results

- Prepare for and actively lead/participate in seasonal hindsight meetings to provide strategic guidance for future inventory investments

- Analyze promotional cadence and results to inform decisions on future approach

- Create ad hoc reporting to investigate trends and oddities in performance

- Determine and execute weekly allocations to retail locations

- In collaboration with retail division, analyze store replenishment strategy and make appropriate modifications based on store needs

Requirements:

- Bachelor's degree plus 3 years of merchandise planning experience, preferably within a direct-to-consumer business

- Clear understanding of financial and inventory measures: sales, gross margin, weeks on hand/weeks of supply, sell through, turnover, with a proficiency in retail math

- Ability to think objectively and interpret meaningful themes from quantitative and qualitative data

- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and an aptitude to learn technical applications quickly

- Ability to build constructive and effective relationships with broad and diverse group of business partners

- Possess strong organizational, time management and written and oral communication skills

- A strong sense of curiosity and integrity
